New album ‘Illusion of Time’ out today! Debut full-length collaboration between Daniel Avery (English electronic music producer and DJ from Bournemouth) and Nine Inch Nails synth artist Alessandro Cortini. The project began with Avery and Cortini worked remotely before the pair had even met, and was finally completed while both artists were touring with Nine Inch Nails in 2018. Josiah Gladwell (aka K-LONE) is a British Producer and DJ, born in London and now based in Brighton. This track comes from K-LONE’s debut ‘Cape Cira’ the LP due out 24 April on Wisdom Teeth, the Bristol-based record label run by Facta and K-LONE. According to Bandcamp, ‘Cape Cira’ is “the result of a short creative burst during a grim British winter”, that “explores music as escapism, comprising a series of lush, warm vignettes that demonstrate music’s unique transportive power.”
Melanie Velarde is a Berlin-based artist field recordings, objects, voices and instruments. This track comes form Melanie’s ‘Bez’ album, released on RVNG Intl. Before released, ‘Bez’ was originally broadcast as a continuous mix of all new and original Music from Velarde during RVNG’s Rinse FM takeover in 2018. The ‘Bez’ project was part of Commend NYC’s ‘Commend See’ series, and launched the Commend There sub-label. Commend NYC is the Lower East Side record shop run by RVNG’s Matt Werth, established in 2016.
Jon Hassell is an American trumpet player and composer, who has been active since the 1960s and who first collaborated with Burkina Faso group Farafina in 1987. From the reissued and remastered ‘Fourth World’ album from 1988, co-produced with the legendary studio team of Brian Eno & Daniel Lanois. Available via Tak:Til/Glitterbeat Records.
Green-House is the project of Los Angeles based artist Olive Ardizoni, with additional keyboard, production, and artwork by Michael Flanagan. The album ‘Six Songs for Invisible Gardens’ is designed as a communication with both plant life and the people who care for them. Out on Leaving Records, music label founded by LA producer and Low End Theory member Matthewdavid in 2008.
Tim Clay and James Rapson are Lung Dart. Their music is centred around ideas of memory, and spans the realms of live instrumentation, sample-based productions, experimental music and pop. They have released a mini album, two EPs, and a mixtape alongside commissioned scoring work which has been shown at Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Barbican Centre, BFI London Film Festival, Somerset House, Berlin Film Festival and many others. This song comes from Lung Dart’s 2016 EP ‘As I Lay Drying’, released on London-based PRAH Recordings. Lung Dart’s new album ‘Slouching Towards Meridian’ also came on PRAH back in November 2019.
