Sign Libra is the moniker of the multi-talented Latvian music producer and artist Agata Melnikova. Her new album ‘Sea to Sea’ (inspired by the “seas” of the moon’s surface, known collectively as Lunar Maria) has been released on the Brooklyn-based music institution RVNG Intl.
X & Yde – Dares Soar
X & Yde is the alias for the collaborative project between Danish/Honduran artist composer artist Xenia Xamanek, and Ydegirl (the project alias for Danish singer Andrea Novel). From a new complication ‘Kulør 006’ released on Danish DJ and producer Najaaraq Vestbirk’s (aka Courtesy) own Copenhagen-based label Kulør.

Buddy Peace – Ten Horn Core Part 004
Nick Budd, AKA Buddy Peace, is an English hip-hop producer and DJ from London. Back in 2014, he self-released a Miles Davis ‘ultramix’. The project required disassembled every single track on both Miles Davis’ ‘Bitches Brew’ and ‘On the Corner Sessions’ albums, and then reassembled the 4200 chops samples into 2 x 30 minute productions. This track comes from the ‘On the Corner Sessions’ megamix entitled ‘Ten Horn Core’. The ‘Bitches Brew’ megamix was called ‘Sons Of Bitches’.
Carol Rich – Computered Love
Carol Rich (born Anne-Lyse Caille) is a Swiss singer, best known for her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1984, Rich made her first appearance in the Swiss Eurovision Song Contest selection, where her song ‘Tokyo Boy’ ranked seventh place. When later released as a single, the b-side to ‘Tokyo Boy’ was this track ‘Computered Love’. The song is now being re-released as part of an all new compilation by Décalé. and Bongo Joe Records, which places the spotlight on the Swiss experimental and electronic scene of the ‘80s and the early ‘90s.
Lung Dart – Healthy Functional Tissue
Tim Clay and James Rapson are Lung Dart. Their music is centred around ideas of memory, and spans the realms of live instrumentation, sample-based productions, experimental music and pop. They have released a mini album, two EPs, and a mixtape alongside commissioned scoring work which has been shown at Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Barbican Centre, BFI London Film Festival, Somerset House, Berlin Film Festival and many others. This song comes from Lung Dart’s 2016 EP ‘As I Lay Drying’, released on London-based PRAH Recordings. Lung Dart’s new album ‘Slouching Towards Meridian’ also came on PRAH back in November 2019.

Jean Guérin is a French explorative classical avant-garde and jazz drummer, and founder member of the heavy-acid jazzy collective Ergo Sum. Jean’s ‘Tacet’ album (from Latin for “to be quiet” or “non engaging”) is the result of his movie soundtrack work. ‘Tacet’ would be later reworked as the soundtrack of Claude Faraldo’s eccentric 1971 film “Bof… Anatomie d’un livreur”. The original ‘Tacet’ album was released on Futura Records.

Aïsha Devi – The Favor Of Fire (Equiknoxx Remix Feat. Gavsborg & Shanique Marie)
Aïsha Devi (previous #SOTD ‘Inner State Of Alchemy’ here) is a Swiss-born, Tibetan/Nepalese producer, also known under her Kate Wax moniker and for co-founding the Danse Noire label. While Equiknoxx are a Jamaican music collective, comprised Shanique Marie & Gavsborg (who add vocals to the remix), plus Time Cow, Kemikal, and Bobby Blackbird. This collaboration is from the ‘S.L.F. Versions’ EP, a set of cutting-edge radical reworks from Aïsha Devi’s widely-praised 2019 ‘S.L.F.’ EP. Both the original and rework EPs are out on the London-based Houndstooth label.
