Nick Budd, AKA Buddy Peace, is an English hip-hop producer and DJ from London. Back in 2014, he self-released a Miles Davis ‘ultramix’. The project required disassembled every single track on both Miles Davis’ ‘Bitches Brew’ and ‘On the Corner Sessions’ albums, and then reassembled the 4200 chops samples into 2 x 30 minute productions. This track comes from the ‘On the Corner Sessions’ megamix entitled ‘Ten Horn Core’. The ‘Bitches Brew’ megamix was called ‘Sons Of Bitches’.
Kit Sebastian are Kit Martin (who composed all the songs and played all the instruments) and multi-disciplinary and vocalist artist Merve Erdem (who wrote all the lyrics). Following up on their debut album ‘Mantra Moderne’ , the Brighton-based Mr Bongo record label has put out three unique reworkings. This reworking features Halal Cool J (aka Aly Jamal / Don Leisure / co-member of Darkhouse Family with Earl Jeffers). Previous Halal Cool J #SOTD: Shaboo Strikes Back.

Title track from Sam Gendel’s upcoming ‘Satin Doll’ LP, due out on New York-based Nonesuch Records on 13th March. Gendel is a saxophonist and clarinetist, who collaborated on one of my favourite albums of 2018 ‘Sam Gendel & Sam Wilkes – Music For Saxofone & Bass Guitar’. Recorded in Gendel’s native California, the album features three musicians: Gendel on saxophone, Gabe Noel on electric bass, and Philippe Melanson on electronic percussion.

Jon Hassell is an American trumpet player and composer, who has been active since the 1960s and who first collaborated with Burkina Faso group Farafina in 1987. From the reissued and remastered ‘Fourth World’ album from 1988, co-produced with the legendary studio team of Brian Eno & Daniel Lanois. Available via Tak:Til/Glitterbeat Records.
I think there is a connection between Ssaladd and Slugabed (aka Greg Feldwick), but I’m not too sure what. According to Bandcamp, Ssaladd is bassist Harrison, drummer Toby, and Gregory “Fendering The Rhodes”. Perhaps this is Gregory Feldwick? Anyways, the new ‘Ssaladd EP’ has been released on Feldwick’s on London-based Activia Benz label.

Jean Guérin is a French explorative classical avant-garde and jazz drummer, and founder member of the heavy-acid jazzy collective Ergo Sum. Jean’s ‘Tacet’ album (from Latin for “to be quiet” or “non engaging”) is the result of his movie soundtrack work. ‘Tacet’ would be later reworked as the soundtrack of Claude Faraldo’s eccentric 1971 film “Bof… Anatomie d’un livreur”. The original ‘Tacet’ album was released on Futura Records.

The Colours That Rise are a London based production duo, comprised of Simeon Jones and Nathanael Williams. The new The Colours That Rise release instead comes out on Rhythm Section International (Peckham, London based label established by Bradley Zero).
