Mdou Moctar – Anar

a3615754115_16

Mdou Moctar’s previous #SOTD Wiwasharnine was one of my favourite songs of 2019.  I just love his unconventional reinterpretation of the Tuareg guitar and Saharan music. Mdou Moctar’s recent releases have been on Records, but this 2012 track comes from a ‘Mdou Moctar Covers EP’ released by BRAINSTORM. This EP featured two reinterpreations of Mdou Moctar’s music by BRAINSTORM, as well as two Mdou Moctar’s covers by Mdou Moctar.
